What To Expect Sturgeon Fishing

Please meet Rod for your day of guided fishing at;

Island 22 Boat Launch in Chilliwack on the morning of confirmed booked fishing date.

*Please find below: directions to the boat launch, as well as a list of what to bring.

Be sure to have the following angling licensing valid for your day of fishing
*Licensing can be purchased online at https://j100.gov.bc.ca/pub/ras/signin.aspx
-fresh water fishing license
-Sturgeon conservation surcharge/tag

To purchase your license online, you will need to have a credit card, as well as a printer hooked up to your computer in order to print your license. In the event that you are unable to purchase your licensing online, your fishing licensing can also be purchased from a local tackle shop prior to your day of fishing.


What to Bring on Your Guided Fishing Trip

FOR ALL GUIDED TRIPS - IT IS BEST TO BRING LAYERS TO COVER ALL CONDITIONS, AS THE WEATHER CAN CHANGE SIGNIFIGANTLY THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY OF FISHING

  Light pants and or shorts for summer trips
  Warm pants for winter/fall trips
  Sunglasses (preferably polarized)
  Sunscreen
  Bug Repellent
  Raincoat/Windbreaker *essential… this is B.C.!
  Sweater (wool if you have it)
  Fleece is very useful in our climate
  T-shirt
  Hat for sun protection- hat with brim
  Waders and Boots (if you have them)
  All Gear is provided- however- you are welcome to bring any personal rods or gear that you may prefer to use. Please keep in mind that your equipment may not be suitable for our species in which case you would be expected to use the gear provided by Bent Rods.

  FOR STURGEON FISHING- EXPECT TO ENTER THE WATER FOR FISH LANDINGS- WE CARRY WADERS FOR THIS, HOWEVER, MANY PEOPLE PREFER TO BRING APPROPRIATE ATTIRE FOR THIS SUCH AS A PAIR OF SHOES THAT CAN BE WORN IN THE WATER(NOT FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS THAT WILL COME OFF EASILY), SHORTS, EXTRA SOCKS AND EXTRA PANTS

  Camera and/or Video Camera
  Plenty of food/snacks to last at least 8 hours (unless you have ordered lunch from us)
  Any required Personal Medication (painkillers, anti-nausea, etc.)


Directions to the Island 22 Boat Launch
Coming from West

(Vancouver Area)-EastBound
Head East on Highway #1
Exit Highway at Exit #119 (Chilliwack/Vedder Rd./Yale Rd.)
Turn Left (North) at Exit
You are on Vedder Rd.
Continue North- Vedder Rd. will become Yale Rd.
Turn Right onto Airport Rd. heading East
Turn Left onto Young Rd. heading North
Turn Left onto Cartmell Rd.- this road will turn into a gravel road
Continue until you come to the toll booth (there is a small parking fee for the day)
Go straight through until you see the boat launch on the Right
Park over to the Left (parking to the right is for trucks with trailers only)

Directions to the Island 22 Boat Launch
Coming from Highway #1 East

(Heading West)
Head West on Highway #1
Exit Highway at Exit #119/Yale Rd. heading North
Stay on Yale Rd. heading North
Turn Right onto Airport Rd. heading East
Turn Left onto Young Rd. heading North
Turn Left onto Cartmell Rd.- this road will turn into a gravel road

Go straight through until you see the boat launch on the Right
